User Deletion Policy

Effective Date: June 01 2025

1. Account Deletion Process

Users can delete their accounts by following these steps:

  1. In-App Deletion:
    • Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account
    • Confirm deletion by following the on-screen instructions
  2. Support Request:
    • Email us at support@hashntag.com with the subject line “Delete My Account”
    • You must provide the email or phone number associated with your account

2. Data Retention and Deletion Timeline

Upon account deletion:

  • Your profile, photos, chats, matches, and other personal content will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
  • During this period, your account will be deactivated and not visible to other users.
  • Some minimal data may be retained for:
    • Fraud prevention
    • Legal obligations
    • Enforcement of our Terms of Service

Data that may be retained (as allowed by law):

  • Transaction records
  • Consent logs
  • Communication logs with support
  • IP logs for security

3. Right to Erasure (GDPR & CCPA)

If you are a resident of the EU or California, you have the right to request full erasure of your personal data. Contact support@hashntag.com to exercise this right. We will comply within 30 days, subject to verification of your identity.

4. Third-Party Data

If you have connected third-party services (e.g., Facebook, Google), you must also revoke access via those platforms. We are not responsible for data stored on third-party services.

5. Exceptions

We may refuse deletion requests in the following cases:

  • Unresolved legal claims or disputes
  • Fraud investigations
  • Compliance with regulatory or legal obligations
